INX Digital’s three innovative new triangle brand ink products attracted a high level of attention, at this year’s SGIA Expo, held October 23-25 at the Orange County, setting a tone of great optimism for the first half of 2014.
The line-up of Triangle wide format, alternative inkjet ink sets was expanded at SGIA with the introductions of MED and ESC, and a preview demonstration of HLX latex inks. The response from customers and dealers exceeded all expectations according to Susie Mendelssohn, INX Digital’s North American Sales Manager and International Marketing Manager.
‘I thought it would be tough to top our success at SGIA in 2012, but it was a really great show. The MED inks we demonstrated on the Mimaki® 3042 UV LED flatbed desktop printer received a very favourable response from many of the dealers who visited our booth. The ESC inks also attracted an amazing amount of traffic. We ran them on the Epson Stylus® GS6000printer and people found the two-year durability warranty to be a huge selling feature,’ Mendelssohn noted demonstrating the new HLX latex inks on an HP Designjet L2550 printer attracted crowds each day.
‘We experienced a very excited response. HXL is colour and chemically compatible with the HP 789 and 792 ink series and represents a huge cost savings compared to the OEM inks. The dealers recognised it as an affordable latex replacement ink for the sizeable installment base of HP units in the marketplace. We met with dealers who are on the traditional printing side of the business. They understand what’s happening with the growth of digital equipment, and developing a parallel channel makes sense. We also heard from people who expressed interest in our ink cartridge recycling program.’ Mendelssohn continued.
MED is a UV LED ink that is ideal for the specialty print market and the growing installed base of small Mimaki UV flatbed printers. Available in six colours plus white, and clear and compatible with Ricoh Gen 4 print heads, it is more flexible than Mimaki LH100 series inks and offers better adhesion to a wider variety of plastics including clear, white and coloured substrates. Other benefits: a high abrasion resistance, a smoother print surface without banding, and the ability to print on difficult surfaces.
ESC produces spectacular colour for outdoor banners, posters and trade show graphics. The game-changing benefit is it can be done quickly since the GS6000 is the fastest 1.6m (64-inch) wide roll-to-roll printer of its class. With improved Isopropyl Alcohol (IPA) resistance, ESC is colour and chemically compatible with OEM inks. The yellow colour set offers extended two-year durability and no colour profiling is required.
