Floor Signage, received Product of the Year award for its Alumigraphics Grip – media for digital inkjet film at this year’s SGIA Expo in Orlando. The award was given in recognition of the latest equipment and supplies currently on the market that are advancing the specialty imaging industry.
Scott Wieclaw, President of Floor Signage said, ‘This award validates the years of persistence to develop a truly unique media for the digital printing industry. Alumigraphics grip achieved our goals of being compatible with all types of printers, environmentally friendly, outdoor durable, and easy to install and remove making it exceptional for point-of-purchase applications. Alumigraphics Grip was compared to other products in the Media for Digital Inkjet Film category, and we came out on top. That’s quite an accomplishment. What sets Alumigraphics Grip apart from other substrates is the aluminium foil base material combined with a specially designed top surface. The combination allows for direct to the surface printing with no over laminate and easy application and removal to uneven surfaces without heat or trained installers. ‘
‘It’s designed so that the sign shop saves time in production and the end user can apply and remove the graphics, providing them with more control of posting along with saving time and money,’ added Micah Causey, Vice President of Floor Signage.
Fifty-five companies from around the world entered the competition, submitting 102 entries in 21 categories. Evaluated during the 2013 SGIA Expo (Orlando, October 23-25), this year’s submissions represented some of the industry’s most innovative digital products.
Jeff Burton, SGIA’s Digital Printing Analyst said, ‘The Product of the Year Award Competition highlights the best technologies and consumables from the specialty imaging community. Entries were so good that judging category winners was a real challenge.’
