Kent Brink and Wade Bartlett from Expand a Sign completed the 106km Amashova Cycle Race on single-speed postman bicycles in a time of 6h20min to raise an impressive R20000 for the Cupcakes for kids with Cancer organisation.

The novice duo recalled how fantastic the camaraderie and spirit among the riders and spectators was, and explained that they received much needed encouragement and cheer throughout their ride. Numerous riders were in absolute awe of the two for attempting to cycle to race on single-speed bicycles and some had their doubts that the pair would complete the race at all.

Three times Amashova winner, Nolan Hoffman, congratulated Kent and Wade on their impressive accomplishment. ‘Well done and huge respect to you both on an incredibly insane achievement. I hope the cycling bug has now bitten and that you’ll be regular starters at all the races.’

Kent and Wade thanked everyone for all the support and for donating so generously. ‘We are very grateful to every single person who supported us in our first Amashova journey, from friends and family to colleagues and corporates. We are extremely proud to have completed this challenging race and are equally honoured to hand over R20000 to such an awesome charity.’
