Setema introduced its new washing machine for digital textile printers at FESPA Munich, which took place from 21-23 May.

The machine offers higher throughput and lower costs. The E-Wash is a development of the Dutch digital textile processing equipment firm’s Porta-Wash range and offers improved performance.

Jaco Kramer, a director at Setema’s sales and marketing partner 2-some said, ‘At the top end of the digital textile market firms such as Durst and MS are increasing the speed of their printers, so we saw a need for a faster machine. All our equipment is dedicated to digital print and as such is compact, lightweight and has low energy consumption compared to washers designed for screen printing.’

Through put is dependent on the type of textile and its weight and Kramer said the E-Wash could process up to 400 linear m/hr of 120gsm polyester or 200 linear m/hr of 120gsm cotton.  It is available in 1.85m, 2.5m and 3.4m widths. Units can be combined for higher throughput and can be incorporated into existing Porta-Wash lines for firms increasing their capacity.

The device is suitable for all digital ink types and for both soft signage, garment and interior textile applications.
