The movie poster ‘Boss’, printed on Seemee® mesh extra, has set a new Guinness World Record. The fan club of the Bollywood star Akshay Kumar actualised the larger-than-life poster in association with the digital printer Macro Art to attend the film premiere in Great Britain. Macro Art decided that the extra light weight and durable PVC mesh from Germany would be the most suitable material.
For celebrating the release of the Bollywood film ‘Boss’, the fan club of the leading actor Akshay Kumar, called ‘Team Akshay’, initiated this Guinness book world record. ‘Team Akshay’ instructed Macro art, a UK based company, to print the largest movie poster ever made. With an area of 3234.31 square metres, the mega-poster has beaten the previous record by more than six times, with the previous record being held by sony Music UK to promote Michael Jackson’s album ‘Michael’.
Macro art printed the larger-than-life theme on Seemee® mesh extra B 3131, which is primarily used for building wraps and billboards. The high quality mesh offers high printing speed with outstanding print results. It can be easily welded to create a perfect unified whole. Because of the grid structure which allows air to circulate mesh is lighter than PVC yet keeping it’s durability through a high tear and tensile strength.
The world-record poster consists of 36 panels (5 by 18 metre sections) of mesh extra. It was registered officially in the Guinness Book of World records measuring 58.87m x 54.94m.
