VISCOM FRANKFURT 2012 BOASTS NUMBER OF NEW FEATURES

924

To further develop the synergies between the different fields of visual communication, the trade fair will have a range of new features, including a subdivision into six theme worlds, which gives clearer orientation to visitors and exhibitors. The new ‘World of Inspiration’ provides ideas from professional practice, and ‘Eco Future’ is the motto for information as well as for products and services focussing on the theme of the environment and sustainability.

Seventy percent of the stand area has already been booked and leading national and international digital printing exhibitors are among those present. The major advertising technology distributors will also exhibit at the trade fair.

The six viscom worlds

The assignment of products and services offered to six viscom worlds illustrates the broad range covered by the trade fair and provides a clearer structure. The Printing, Processes & Material offers everything from the printing world – from digital printing, large format printing and finishing technology to materials.

The Advertising Technology, Signmaking & Light Advertising theme world focusses on signs, guiding and orientation systems, LED and neon, flexography, engraving, trade fair construction and shop fitting as well as car wrapping.

The viscom world of Out of Home Media is dedicated to products and services from the OOH, DOOH, ambient media, public sector marketing and street furniture segments. Working Materials, Processes & Equipment are also part of viscom, featuring suppliers of software and hardware, assembly and transport, tools, equipment and services, components and finished products, consumables and carrier materials as well as cutting and finishing.

Two of the viscom worlds showcase a completely separate segment as ‘fairs within the fair’: the Digital Signage World as the hub for digital signage including retail, guiding and information systems, interactive and multichannel, content and consulting, and the Display/PoS Expo presenting products and services in the fields of packaging, display racks, long and short-term displays as well as digital displays. The six viscom worlds represent all sectors of visual communication.

2012 focus theme: Eco Future

This year’s cross-industry trend at viscom is the ‘Eco Future’ theme. The challenges and opportunities in sustainable media production concern many exhibitors and visitors, not least from a competitive point of view. The trade fair will feature a special presentation on these issues where companies can present themselves with their concepts, strategies and visions. A theme day on sustainable media production in the viscom supporting programme is also planned.

World of Inspiration

A new face will be added to viscom this year, the ‘World of Inspiration’. For marketing specialists, object designers, branded goods manufacturers, retailers, advertising technicians or printers this area of almost 700sqm is a marketplace for ideas, best practices and networking. A new part of this special show, supplementing the ‘Individual Design meets Materials’ materials show and the redesigned ‘print design! Printed life worlds’ area, is a touch-and-feel station for sheet materials made from paper and for digital printing papers. Exhibits from the viscom theme worlds and the outdoor advertising, digital printing, PoS and digital signage fields will also be shown. The projects nominated for the ‘Digital Signage Best Practice Award’ and the winner of the ‘designmaker 2012’ competition also have a guaranteed place in the special presentation.

The theme of this year’s supporting programme of viscom is ‘Visual Communication in a connected world’. There will be three exciting days of lectures on this topic in the open auditorium of the ‘World of Inspiration’, and this year’s ‘Lunch & Learn’ programme also takes up this theme.
