This week’s wrap features a full colour-change on a Toyota 86. The project was completed by Dynaco Wraps using Arlon material provided by Eco Signage Supplies.
The owner had a very specific vision for the car from the beginning and stayed committed to the look. The aim was to give the 86 a clean and aggressive look while still keeping the overall spec tasteful and balanced.
The matt black roof and hood contrast work helped sharpen the lines of the car and allowed the aluminium purple finish to stand out even more naturally.
The wrap was completed using Arlon PCC557 Matt Aluminium Purple, with Matt Black Cast vinyl on the hood and roof with a complete badge blackout.
The film itself was ideal to work with. The colour works especially well on the Toyota 86 body shape and changes character well depending on lighting conditions.
From an installer perspective, the film conformed well without being aggressive in initial tack, which helped speed up installation and positioning without needing tack reducer. It also allowed controlled stretching and finishing around more detailed areas of the vehicle like the boot lid wing.
The goal with the installation was not to over style the car, but rather to let the colour and body lines with the matt finish do most of the work.
