Prismaflex RSA (Pty) Ltd has purchased a Fujifilm Uvistar Pro8, which was installed at its Boksburg premises in March this year. This is Prismaflex’s second Fujifilm machine, with the company installing a Uvistar II in 2013. This is the third unit of the range to be installed in South Africa.

‘With the success that was created from the purchase of our current Uvistar II, it was only natural that Prismaflex would carry on with this momentum with the purchase of the Pro8. The combination of the Uvistar II and the Pro8 have given Prismaflex the opportunity to increase capacity and create a state of consistency,’ said Steven Swanepoel, Managing Director at Prismaflex RSA. ‘The Pro8 has also given us the opportunity to diversify into other markets with its hi-res and light colour capabilities. Prismaflex and Fujifilm have built up a good relationship over the last couple of years. Fujifilm has always gone the extra mile for Prismaflex when it comes to service. The attitudes of everyone that I have had the pleasure of meeting at Fujifilm have always been positive and honest.’

The Uvistar Pro8 delivers high image quality and high productivity. With a light colours ink set, it enables close-view, high value images to be printed, widening the range of applications to include exhibition graphics, point-of-purchase displays, graphic arts and other indoor displays.

With throughput speeds of over 350sqm/hr (5m model), Uvistar printers are fuelled by Fujifilm’s own high performance Uvijet inks, producing high quality, vibrant images. Uvistar is suitable for the production of a variety of poster displays, point-of-purchase materials, billboards, vehicle graphics and backlit signage up to five metres wide, but new Uvijet ink developments make it possible to further broaden the range of media that can be printed, like polyethylene for single skin posters.

Productivity options

The Uvistar II series includes both 3.5m and 5m media width machines designed for high-volume super-wide industrial printing with a choice of 16 or 32 print head configurations.

Uvijet inks

Using Fujifilm’s unique Micro-V ultrafine dispersion technology to maximise pigment loading, the Uvijet range of UV curing inks deliver strong, vibrant, lightfast colours with greater image quality and a superior colour gamut.
