GSW Showcased Eurotech 500sqm:Hour Printing Innovation At Johannesburg Open House Event

Graphix Supply World (GSW) showcased its Eurotech E5000H 500sqm/hour hybrid printing solution at an exclusive Johannesburg open house event from 14-17 July. Users of the machine can print on almost anything: roll media, rigid boards, thick substrates and more with precision, speed and reliability.

The Eurotech E5000H is built for businesses that demand performance, versatility and standout quality. Features include 5000mm grand format print width, and up to 500sqm/h high speed production.

Rigid media thickness is 51mm (with thick board capability), CMYK + W + V ensures expanded creative capability, and variable-drop greyscale printing enables smooth tones and fine detail.

With roll and rigid capabilities (flexible rolls and rigid board), the machine ascertains true hybrid production.

GSW explained that customers are able to send test files in advance where the company can get them set up. When customers come in, they can see their artwork running on the machine directly, and company representatives show them the entire process through, from the start to the end of the workflow.

On the machine itself, instead of average production running roughly 300sqm/h traditionally on roll-to-roll machines, users can perform at 500, so turnaround times are extremely quick.

By adding the tables in the front on the machine, users can go from roll-to-roll to rigid materials in the same pass, which makes it very versatile for applications.

The machine is also capable of handling sensitive and industrial substrates, as well as PVCs, gazebos and tarpaulin.

Fine details can be added running both CMYK with spot white and spot varnish. For printing onto a black substrate, users can use white ink, and increase production as well.

The machine has a vacuum belt that pulls the media forward, so the user doesn’t have to rely on pinch rollers. The machine’s smoothing bar removes the creases before the media enters the machine.

For the media handling system, there is a vacuum bed, which is extremely good for media accuracy. There are also anti-crash sensors on the sides of the head carriage. If the media has any defects, those will detect it before it can cause any damage to the printheads. Other features cited include the machine’s multi-roll capability.

GSW concluded by saying that the feed makes it the most productive flatbed printer in the world, allowing clients to print immediately after the media passes through the head carriage, effectively saving between 1-2 x 5m or 3.2m of media (5-10sqm per roll).
