The choice of the swissQprint machine underscores FORM AG’s commitment to innovation, quality, and sustainability. FORM AG, a creative agency based in Switzerland, recently installed a Kudu flatbed printer from swissQprint. The decision was driven by the need for increased productivity, superior quality, high system availability, and proximity to the manufacturer.
The company’s recent relocation and expansion provided the perfect opportunity to invest in a new large format printer. The Kudu has replaced two older machines from a different brand, significantly boosting productivity.
For instance, a recurring job that previously took three days can now be completed in just one day with the Kudu. The printer’s high-speed printing is enhanced by the Tandem mode for non-stop printing, and a pin system for quick and precise media registration.
The Kudu also features a roll to roll option, which Markus Rolli, the Production Manager for Digital Printing, appreciates for its efficiency. ‘Switching between flatbed and roll jobs is quick, and the vacuum is easy to adjust,’ he noted. The compact design of the roll to roll option has also simplified integration into the print room.
FORM AG, kreative Macher, aims to provide its customers with the highest quality and new offerings with the Kudu printer. This includes tactile prints and special effects like droptix (optical 3D effect) or gloss enhancements, made possible by the printer’s varnish channel. These unique features help FORM AG stand out in the market, building on their reputation for precise 3D printing solutions.
As the central output system for large format printing, the Kudu must operate reliably. ‘Longevity and excellent support are crucial,’ emphasised CEO Stefan Ingold, who values swissQprint’s responsive support from the company’s headquarters in Switzerland.
FORM AG, kreative Macher, is also committed to minimising its environmental footprint. A photovoltaic system generates energy for the entire site, with the Kudu consuming an average of only 2.2 kWh. Additionally, a heat exchanger recycles the warm exhaust air from the printer’s vacuum pumps back into the energy cycle.
The company is confident that the Kudu’s Swiss-made performance, quality, and reliability will contribute to its long-term success.
