Agfa Customer Chooses Wide Format LED Printer For Speed And Ink Savings

Nieman Printing chose the Jeti Mira MG2732 HS LED wide format LED flatbed printer with six colours (CMYKLcLm) plus white with optional varnish and a roll-to-roll extension. The dockable roll-to-roll attaches to the front of the unit, reducing media waste.

‘We were fairly close to capacity on our last hybrid and planning our next steps,’ said Matt Nieman, Chief Operating Officer at Nieman Printing. ‘The speed and quality of the Jeti Mira is impressive and the ink savings makes us more competitive. We calculated a 60% savings in ink costs attributed to the Jeti Mira’s ‘thin ink layer’ technology. That’s what sold us.’

The Jeti Mira LED offers a high pigment load of ink and lowers consumption while producing graphics with the feel of an offset print. This thin ink pigment dispersion technology delivers intensely vibrant graphics with the lowest cost of print production in the industry.

With speeds up to 248sqm/hr, the versatile Jeti Mira handles rigid media up to 2.69m wide, flexible media up to 2.05m wide and offers advanced LED curing for heat sensitive substrates. A ‘Print & Prepare’ function allows non-stop printing for additional productivity.

‘We are increasing customer volume with the Jeti Mira and clients are noticing the improved calibre of our work,’ explained Nieman. ‘Jobs that would take six or seven hours are accomplished in 45 minutes, which means our clients have more time to manage their files and make changes.’

Nieman Printing can produce stunning, detailed images and razor-sharp texts as small as 4-point type. The varnish option on the Jeti Mira transforms graphics into captivating visuals that impress onlookers. ‘We layered varnish on a linen material for one of our clients. They were ecstatic and increased their order,’ noted Nieman.
