During the Sign Africa expo in Durban visitors can see JG Electronics’ Silhouette Portrait 4 business vinyl cutter, Koala Waterproof Sticker Paper, Koala High Gloss Photo Paper, and Muggit™ Craft Express Auto Drawer. The event is taking place Wednesday and Thursday, 27-28 May at the Durban ICC, 9am-5pm.
The Silhouette Portrait 4 business vinyl cutter is a compact electronic cutting machine that is perfect for business use and anyone starting out, or expanding their existing business on a budget. It is easy to set up and simple to use for both beginners and professionals. Smaller and more compact than JG Electronics’ Silhouette Cameo 5 business cutter, it cuts up to 216mm wide and handles materials up to 2mm thick. This cutter can do it all: cut, draw and foil designs for endless possibilities.
The product features a cutting width of 216mm and maximum cutting length of 488cm without a cutting mat. Users can cut with and without a cutting mat.
The automatic blade is adjusted to the correct depth by the software according to the substrate being cut. It is also Mac and PC compatible.It comes with Silhouette Studio®, a powerful free software that is versatile yet incredibly easy for users and their employees to master. No software subscriptions are required.
Should a business expand and the portrait isn’t able to cope with volumes, users can simply upgrade their free edition to the Business Edition software. This upgrade provides the ability to connect multiple machines to the same PC and run multiple jobs simultaneously. Software upgrades can be purchased online.
JG Electronics repair the cutters locally (if needed) and there is free training at the company’s offices in Johannesburg, Bloemfontein and Cape Town.
Users can cut heat transfer vinyl for branding T-shirts and fabrics, sticker vinyl for business branding, wall murals for rooms and so on. A full range of ink infused sublimation patterns can be cut and transferred to decorate sublimation coated products if users do not own a sublimation printer. Use it for stencils for acid etching (glass etching), wood burning gel, fabric paint, wall art, stamp making, and sandblasting.
Using the pen holder in the vinyl cutter users can draw words/designs with standard gel pens as well use Sublimation Craft Marker Pens. With sublimation ink already in the pen, it allows users to transfer their sketches on a wide range of blank sublimatable items from JG Electronics.

Koala Waterproof Sticker Paper
The Koala A4 printable sticker vinyl sheets in white and clear are perfect for labelling, branding, and adding personality to a product or surface users want to decorate for their customer’s project.
JG Electronics’ clear and white sticker vinyl paper all share these qualities. These are one of the most durable A4 vinyl sticker sheets the company supplies. The stickers feature a strong adhesive hold and residue-free removal. They are also durable and difficult to tear.
