Flexa Miura and Easy Lite machines, combined with Segra support, have helped PF1 stay competitive and future-ready. PF1, a company based on the northern city of Monterrey in Mexico, is specialised in digital printing and decorative vinyl. The company had to face a common but critical challenge in its production workflow: time-consuming manual cutting and measuring of vinyl rolls.
Each order needed to be customised based on the length requested by the client, and this meant trimming edges and measuring metres manually, a process that took up to two hours per roll.
Everything changed after the company visited the FESPA exhibition in Mexico City. That’s where PF1 team first encountered the Flexa Miura automatic cutter, showcased by local dealer Segra. The moment they saw it in action, they knew this was the breakthrough they had been looking for.
‘When I saw the Miura, I knew this machine would be a marvellous solution for us,’ said Carlos Rios, representative of PF1. ‘Once we installed it, the time to process a roll dropped from two hours to just five minutes, cutting and measuring at the same time.’
Impressed by the immediate impact, PF1 didn’t stop at one machine. They expanded their setup to include two Miura automatic cutters and two Easy Lite laminators, dramatically enhancing their productivity. With this configuration, PF1 is now processing over 10,000 linear metres of vinyl each month, something that would have been nearly impossible with their previous manual system.
The Miura cutters are specifically used for trimming the edges of the vinyl and measuring the length precisely. This simple yet highly efficient function has proven to be a game-changer, allowing the company to keep up with growing customer demand without increasing labour or overhead costs.
‘Our production capabilities increased dramatically,’ Rios added. ‘Without the two Miura cutters, we wouldn’t be able to handle the volume of orders we receive today.’
