Trodat and its South African distributor and subsidiary, Rubber Stamp & Engraving, held the Trodat ‘next 100 years’ event on 27 September at the Wanderers Club, Johannesburg, where the company looked back on a century of innovation and its journey to becoming a major global player.

International and local Trodat customers were invited to the event, where extreme adventurer Peter van Kets served as the guest speaker.

Trodat was founded in Vienna, Austria, in 1912 by Franz Just. The ‘Trodat’ plastic date stamp was introduced internationally in the 1940s. Today Trodat is the global market leader for self-inking stamps – over 200 million Printy stamps have been sold worldwide –  marking products and laser engraving machines.

TROTEC Laser Engravers offer a complete solution – for everything from laser engraving and laser cutting including industrial laser cutting and laser marking. The lasers are perfect fit for every type of laser application, including laser engraving, laser cutting and laser marking.

Notable products include the first plastic self-inking stamp, which revolutionised the stamp industry, and the world’s first climate-neutral stamp.
