SwissQprint Installs Last 4th Generation Printer
DCO has acquired a new flatbed printer from swissQprint.

The Nyala 4 features a 3.2 × 2m flatbed suitable for large format projects such as advertising signs, banners, and displays. To shorten turnaround times and enhance print quality, DCO has acquired a new flatbed printer from swissQprint. The significant efficiency boost allows the company to respond more flexibly and economically to customer demands.

The Nyala 4 is four times faster than the venerable Oryx, outputting up to 206sqm per hour. This means shorter delivery times, even for large orders, without compromising quality.

‘The swissQprint Nyala 4 impressed me with its print resolution of up to 1350dpi and razor-sharp results,’ said Andreas Grieß, Managing Director of DCO Digitaldruck Centrum Oldenburg GmbH. ‘Another compelling factor was its high productivity’. Overall, he considers the investment a quantum leap for the business, as the modern printer is larger, more versatile, and energy-efficient compared to the existing 15-year-old swissQprint Oryx.

One of the Nyala’s standout features is its Tandem mode. While printing on one half of the table, the operator can load material onto the other half, eliminating downtime and enhancing productivity.

DCO has configured the printer with CMYK, light cyan, light magenta, white, and varnish. While the light colours create fine gradients and natural skin tones white and varnish enable creative applications.

The Nyala 4 uses VOC-free, Greenguard Gold-certified inks. The machine also operates with UV-LED lamps that consume little energy, generate minimal heat, and have a long service live. Overall, the printer consumes an average of only 2.2 kWh, supporting DCO’s commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency.

‘SwissQprint has proven to be a reliable partner in terms of support and consumables over the years,’ confirmed Grieß. ‘Moreover, the longevity and low maintenance requirements of the machines attest to their superior quality’. The 15-year-old Oryx remains fully operational and will continue to handle various tasks. The Nyala 4 will take on projects requiring the highest precision, speed, and creativity.

With the delivery of this Nyala 4, swissQprint closes a chapter in its company history. It is the last printer of the 4th generation, as swissQprint launched the 5th generation of flatbed printers in January.
