STP Engineering (STP) has been assigned as an official partner to sell and distribute CERI inks, which are used in Fortune Printers’ machines. CERI inks were developed as a high end product for alternative markets and are compatible with most Epson-based UV printers.
Richard Haarhoff, Director of STP, explained that until recently, CERI inks had stopped being sold in South Africa. STP found, however, that there remained a high demand for these inks, and approached the international supplier. The two parties agreed that STP would not only sell the CERI inks, but rebrand them.
Based on supplier and market feedback, STP found that some of the inks that were being sold in South Africa had expired, and the expired inks were being bought because the new ones weren’t available. ‘So I suggested that we market a new, rebranded and refreshed product, so that people can differentiate very quickly that the rebranded inks are the new batch. We rebranded the CERI product to let people know that the product is still available if they want it, and that it’s fresh and new,’ added Haarhoff.
CERI inks provide multiple benefits, such as colour consistency, as clients who previously used the inks do not need to create new ICC profiles and can continue as they did before. The ink quality is of a high standard, increasing its outdoor durability as well as a printer’s lifespan.
Haarhoff added that STP will also unveil new inks for other printing solutions at the Sign Africa Expo in Johannesburg, in September.
