Roland recently hosted a competition at its offices in Kyalami, Johannesburg where Roland technicians were required to fix a variety of machines. The company then arranged for customers to rate each technician’s work.
Jonathan Jubber of WIP Digital Solutions received the highest rating and has won a trip to Japan, where he will partake in a similar challenge at the company’s headquarters.
Jubber, who has been a Roland technician for 11 years, is excited to be going to Japan. ’To test my knowledge against the best is a little daunting but I’m ready for the challenge. A competition of this nature is geared at individuals who take a real interest in their work and challenge themselves every day to learn something new about the workings of a Roland machine,’ he said.
‘Following a career with Roland is the best move I ever made. When the sky is the limit regarding what a Roland machine can do, there is always something new to learn that keeps the brain sharp,’ he added.
Gerrie Badenhorst (also WIP DS) and Jared Doig (Digizoo DBN) shared in second place, with Derick van Eyssen (Indisol) and Sacha Polydorou (Tshwane Digital Solutions) sharing third place.
