Rapid 3D Hosting Design For Additive Manufacturing Workshop

As a CAD designer, or someone who manages a team of CAD designers, knowing how to design for additive manufacturing is becoming a critical skill. Traditional manufacturing workflows are being redesigned by manufacturers worldwide, to include additive manufacturing.

With that in mind, Rapid 3D has put together a one day hands-on workshop: ‘Designing for Additive Manufacturing’. It will be held at the Kemtek Center of Excellence in Johannesburg, on 11 May 2017.

In this workshop Rapid 3D will take you through the following:

  • The discussion of various additive manufacturing design problems and solutions.
  • The discussion of the suitability of various 3D printing technologies and materials, with a focus on constraints and considerations around the different technologies (this is a critical area to understand).
  • The design of a part, with a view to printing your part (the company will send it to you after the workshop).

As this workshop is aimed at experienced CAD designers, the company have to insist on the following requirements to ensure it can focus on the workshop goals and material: you will need to bring your own laptop with a working MCAD software installation (don’t forget your charger). You must have working proficiency in your CAD software.

For practical reasons, the company has to limit seats to 15 CAD designers, on a first come first served basis.
