Prismaflex RSA (Pty) Ltd in Boksburg has acquired a Fujifilm Uvistar 2, the first in South Africa, with the installation completed on 19 July. The company offers advertising solutions to the outdoor and POP market.
South African Fujifilm distributor Graphix Supply World (GSW) will supply spares for the machine and will provide support.
The Uvistar Series is designed for quick and easy changeovers from one material to another. The material loading path makes it simple to load new material, yet produces excellent material tensioning for excellent print results. A very short 36cm (14”) material leader reduces waste and saves money when switching rolls.
‘We bought the machine because we wanted to invest in the latest technology. The printer gives us a 5m printing width and versatility – it allows us to print on a wide variety of materials. We were especially impressed by the backlit option, which allows us to print on both sides of the material. It also offers quality and quick turnaround times. The Uvistar design includes an optional set of flatbed tables that can used to print on rigid stocks of any length. This proves an excellent low-cost option for shops that don’t print enough rigid materials to justify a dedicated flatbed printer, yet want to keep occasional rigid printing in-house.
