Printing SA Hosts First PrintHER Mentorship Networking Event

Printing SA Hosts First PrintHER Mentorship Networking Event

Printing SA hosted the first of three PrintHER Mentorship networking events in Johannesburg at the Court Yard Hotel in Waterfall City on Saturday 24 January. It was a great opportunity to connect, learn and engage with fellow PrintHER Mentorship Programme participants over breakfast.

Makhosi Chiwashira, Colourblind Consulting.

Abisha Katerere from Printing SA said, ‘Printing SA launched the PrintHER Mentorship Programme last year, a new initiative designed by Colourblind Consulting to connect experienced professionals with emerging talent in the industry. The target was 30 participants, there are 62 participants signed up. The PrintHER Mentorship Programme is a spin-off from the successful Women in Print series which was started 5 years ago. Printing SA is also celebrating 115 years in 2026.’

Makhosi Chiwashira from Colourblind Consulting said, ‘My motto has always been not going where there is a path but starting where is no path and leaving a trail. This is what I am hoping will happen with PrintHER, is that we will make a trail for the next generation, leave a legacy for the women in the industry. We are creating a safe space for women to learn and grow.’

Floyd Munetsi, Colourblind Consulting.

The theme is ‘Make your mark’ and Floyd Munetsi from Colourblind Consulting who put the Mentorship programme together presented a motivating talk on how we can make our mark. The programme aims to inspire, uplift, empower, motivate and support participants.

The events and the mentorship programme are sponsored by the FP&M Seta. There will be an event in Durban on 31 January and in Cape Town on 21 February for the PrintHER Mentorship Programme participants that have signed up.

‘I am excited and looking forward to being a mentor on the programme, I think we are going to learn a lot from each other. Africa Print, Sign Africa and Modern Marketing are proud media partners. This also ties in well with what Change One Woman is promoting, helping one woman at a time and causing that ripple effect, ’ said Charnia Yapp from Practical Publishing and founder of Change One Woman.
