ColorGATE presents comprehensive solution portfolio for ceramic industry.

ColorGATE has announced that it will present its comprehensive solution portfolio for the ceramic industry. This will take place at Tecnargilla 2018 from September 24-28 in Rimini, Italy, where the company will showcase its portfolio at the Durst and Metis Systems booths.

At Durst’s stand, the joint dedicated solution for the ceramics industry will be demonstrated. In cooperation with Metis Systems srl, ColorGATE will present the 3D Surface Director, a complete solution for digital surface design, at the Metis Systems stand.

Manufacturers of ceramic tiles can now not only benefit from the proven quality of the Durst Gamma series, but thanks to the integration of ColorGATE’s Ceramic Productionserver (CPS), also from an optimised workflow, accurate colour rendering and highly efficient and colour-consistent reproduction of existing wall or floor tile designs. The cooperation with Durst Phototechnik AG ensures not only the continuous further development of the CPS, but also that it meets practical requirements.

The Rapid Spectro Cube represents another revolution in the digital printing process. The RSC is a colourimetric scanning and measuring system using a high-resolution CCD sensor and is connected to ColorGATE´s Ceramic Productionserver (CPS). This combination acts as an extremely fast and highly accurate colour capture system, providing colour profiles for printer calibration and colour characterisation as well as separation profiles to automatically separate individual designs or design series into the required colour channels of the respective production process or a particular production line configuration.

A brand new turn-key solution targeting designers and manufactures of surface products consists of the unique SURF 3D digitisation hardware and a complete software suite to acquire, transform and output complete surface description data.

ColorGATE´s CPS functions as a central print data management system and accomplishes by that the highest process efficiency from design to the final ceramic product. The digital end-to-end workflow offers a secure import and conversion of designs and colour data as well as the creation of separations with 3-8 channels.

Specific colour management tools include, for example, the turnkey solutions FPRM (patented Fingerprint technology) and RSC (Rapid Spectro Cube – a Hi-Res measuring and scanning device which can perform colourimetric scans and read targets printed on structured and flat tile surfaces). Up to now, ICC profiling has only been used for device-specific colour characterisation in order to achieve the best possible reproduction of any originals on profiled devices. Fingerprint technology extends this conventional approach of the graphic arts industry and uses a new method for synchronous design specification and print process characterisation in industrial surface decoration.
