Mimaki participated at the recent FESPA Africa and Sign Africa Expo, where the brand was represented by its exclusive distributor in Africa, Graphix Supply World (GSW). In line with FESPA’s theme ‘Where Print Takes Off’, the stand aimed to inspire visitors and get them on board with Mimaki.
Danna Drion, Mimaki’s Senior Marketing Manager for EMEA said, ‘We have a strategic partnership with GSW. We see them as family, and have enjoyed a long and solid relationship with them. GSW is a very well known brand in the market, and Mimaki are extremely happy to work with them on showcasing new trends and innovations.’
The GSW/Mimaki stand focused on displaying applications to show customers the many innovations that can be produced by Mimaki printers, including printed keyboards, soap dispensers, promotional products, 3D objects, home and interior decor, bottles, interior panels, headphones and more. ‘It was great for our loyal customers, as well as new customers, to see these innovations, and they reacted with great interest,’ said Drion. Products spanned the areas of signage and graphics, industrial products, promotional products, UV products, textile printing and 3D technology.
‘FESPA Africa is an important event for not only the South African market, but surrounding countries, so it was very important for Mimaki to exhibit there,’ said Ronald van den Broek, General Manager Sales of Mimaki EMEA. ‘In Africa, as in a lot of countries, people are continuously looking for new trends and new technologies to expand their product portfolios. Customers want to do as much as possible with one technology. And that’s where Mimaki’s products come in. If you look at the individual markets, for example, signage and graphics solutions, besides the traditional media that is available, Mimaki can print, for example, on coloured vinyls, wallpapers or textiles with these solutions. So customers can offer more applications to their clients with only one product.’
‘As long as it’s digitally printed – it doesn’t matter if it’s 2 or 3 dimensional, or whether it’s textiles or banners – whatever customers want, Mimaki can offer, and this is unique in the industry,’ added van den Broek.
