Midcomp’s journey began in April and has, since then, changed the lives of both educators and pupils alike. Foundation phase is the beginning of one’s life in learning and understanding how to communicate with the world. Midcomp introduced colour charts to improve the method of learning in schools in disadvantaged areas as well as organisations for the less fortunate.
One of the primary reasons behind the production and donation of these charts is to prepare lessons that are interesting and fun to pupils to ensure they grasp and fully comprehend the new world opening up to them: a world of literature, numeracy and new forms of communication.
Since its inception, this project has helped 22060 pupils. Midcomp are not only providing a colourful chart to help with learning but also facilitating the teachers with material to assist them in imparting essential life skills. Midcomp has received a heartfelt ‘thank you’ from all the schools and charitable organisations who were the primary recipients of the educational charts. There is a crucial need for educational charts where classes are filled beyond capacity with between 40-60 students to a single educator.
If you have ever wondered what the power of literature can do, it is in everything around us. Today, the world exists as it is because we took time to read, be informed and nurtured the skills that were required to build a promising future. Even the simplest and smallest of efforts can impact and change the lives of young minds, shaping them to become leaders who are equipped with the knowledge and skills to lead others.
Making these charts requires a machine with ink and paper, simple elements that we all too often take for granted. There are many ways to give back, this is just one way Midcomp uses what it has to create more catalysts of growth and give those from disadvantaged backgrounds hope and the opportunity to a life filled with possibility through learning. Private businesses can play their part by reducing their carbon footprint – recycling paper to assist in the production of essential school materials (such as charts) and bring about change by empowering pupils simultaneously.
