GSW TO SHOWCASE MIMAKI’S NEW UJF-3042HG AT MARKEX

Graphix Supply World, Africa’s leading supplier of digital print and cut technology for the signage, graphics, textile, print and packaging industries, will showcase Mimaki’s new UJF-3042HG UV LED Inkjet A3 desktop printer at Markex expo, from 12-14 June at the Sandton Convention Centre (stands: F24-F25).

When the UJF-3042 was launched in 2010, the revolutionary UV LED printer took the market by storm, with many sales made to the promotional and corporate branding industries. The UJF-3042 is used to print onto items such as phone covers, USB sticks, golf balls, pens, fridge magnets, business cards, ID cards, small signage, glass, aluminium, plastic poker chips, iPad covers, laptops and more.

The UJF-3042HG upgraded model features many new functionalities, which improve performance and cost-effectiveness of this affordable and innovative UV solution. Three different ink options for printing onto rigid substrates, flexible substrates and a primer enable printing onto almost any rigid object. With the new 150mm higher head clearance, printing is also now possible on novelty items such as desk cubes, mugs, glass bottles, wood, 3D objects, plastic blocks, plastic bottles and more.

With two new ink slots added, six-colour printing is now possible, enabling higher-definition and a smoother, more beautiful gradation compared to four-colour printing. Furthermore, the UJF-3042HG can be used together with white and clear inks, which add value to printed products by providing under/over-coating on transparent or colored materials as well as glossy/matte finish. The newly developed white ink circulation system, named MCS, prevents pigment sedimentation. This system provides efficient white ink consumption, thus reducing white ink waste.
   
Case Study:
One customer in Cape Town uses the UJF3042HG to print directly onto wine bottles. Together with GSW’s label printers from Mimaki and Primera, the customer’s equipment has paid for itself in only six months down the line as a result of the new business generated. In an environment where branding is becoming increasingly important, this customer has been able to capitalise on this opportunity by printing unique, eye-catching designs directly onto wine bottles. Thanks to digital technology, it is possible to print names onto the bottle in seconds, and charge a premium price for this solution.
