Graphix Supply World (GSW) is celebrating its 30th anniversary. The company continues to grow from strength to strength by forming solid partnerships with leading industry brands.
The company has especially enjoyed a long and solid partnership with Mimaki, having partnered with the brand since 1998. Since then GSW has partnered with other world-leading brands such as Kongsberg PCS, EFI, Eurotech and High Performance Media, to name a few.
As part of the celebration, GSW’s long term clients have shared how they first met, their experience with the company, and how their businesses have grown continuously over the years.
Wayne Momberg, owner of Savage Apparel, said he visited the Sign Africa Expo some three years ago, and was drawn to GSW’s stand because of how it stood out. ‘We started the company after that expo. I bought sublimation and DTF equipment, and have since invested in a laser cutter and heat press. We haven’t bought from anyone since. I even bought another sublimation printer this year.’
Renier de Villers, who bought Silver Signs 14 years ago, said he was convinced back in 2018, ‘A sales representative from GSW drove past my shop one day. I asked about a laminator to assist with my requirements. We discussed all the services and processes of the business at that stage.
‘Being a good salesman, he recommended a Mimaki UV flatbed machine to replace my old fashioned screen print process, suggesting a combined deal of a flatbed and laminator. He convinced me that was the way to go, and since then I’ve been quite happy. So I stick with Mimaki.’
Today Silver Signs have a total of three flatbed printers, as well as two roll-to-roll printers and a vinyl cutter, all under the Mimaki brand.
‘The machines have benefitted the business enormously, I can print full colour which I couldn’t do with screen printing.’
He added that he is able to manage a very large market for posters, particularly colleges and events, country wide, and even across the border into Namibia.

Owner and founder of Bovhu Print, Dan van Rensburg said, ‘GSW sold me their first Mimaki machine in 2011. I chose Mimaki for its print quality. The machines have since opened a lot of doors for us. Our range of machines grew bigger in size over the years, allowing us to open a market for billboards, and then vehicle wrapping. Each time we are pushed into a new direction for new revenues.’
He added that he loves their service and describes it as 100% efficient, ‘Thank you GSW for always being there for us, for helping us through tough times, for helping us succeed with our business, and getting us to where we are today.’
