AM.CO.ZA has introduced the FlatCUT CNC Oscillating Blade Cutter. It features affordability, versatility and it can cut thicker materials. While a drag knife tool is efficient for cutting very thin materials, the oscillating blade not only cuts thicker materials, but can create complex shapes and patterns accurately, whereas the capability of a drag knife tool is limited by comparison.
Ideal for packaging and display products, the machine’s key feature is its ability to switch between an oscillating rotating blade and any other tool that is required. It also has a spindle, vacuum table and built-in camera, as well as a six-axis control system.
Another machine is currently in development in which more tools can be accommodated, with both an oscillating tool and creasing wheel at the same time. AM.CO.ZA‘s cutters have been built on their previous successful router models.
While most cutters on the market cost over R1 million, this machine has all the same features and abilities for less than R250,000.
