Midcomp hosted a Drytac seminar at its Innovation Hub in Randburg on 25 February. Drytac European and Asia sales director Steve Broad spearheaded the event, where he discussed Drytac’s history and global footprint.
Drytac’s adhesive products are especially known for window, floor and wall graphic applications, and are continuously improved to cater for as many different scenarios as possible. Broad outlined the various advantages of Drytac’s products, namely the anti-bacterial, bio-degradable, durable and UV-resistant properties, as well as factors such as slip-resistance and fire retardancy. Drytac’s products are particularly popular in retail and restaurant spaces.
Brochures with dozens of A4 samples – spanning the likes of SpotOn, Polar and ReTac products, as well as their variations – were distributed so attendees could get a better understanding of each product’s textured feel – showcasing their suitability for different scenarios and surfaces. ‘If you look at our catalogue, you could get lost in all our products, so the easiest way to give an understanding of them is to discuss them in terms of their applications,’ said Broad. During his presentation, Broad demonstrated the capabilities of Drytac’s products by applying them to a glass application wall.
Midcomp Consumables director Rakesh Rosen welcomed customers both regular and new, and mentioned that it is Midcomp’s 29th year in existence, and that the company is greatly anticipating turning the ‘big 3-0’ next year. He thanked both the company as well as customers for making this milestone a reality.
According to Rosen, Drytac SpotOn Bubble Free, especially the matte variety, is particularly popular in South Africa, because the hassle-free nature of the product allows print operators to focus on growing their business. ‘It is one of our best sellers,’ he said.
The same seminar was hosted in Cape Town on 27 February at The River Club, Observatory. The last Drytac seminar will be held in Durban on 3 March at Audacia Manor, Morningside. RSVP to cleo@midcomp.co.za
