Caldera recently unveiled a new structure: all RIP products are now unified under a single streamlined identity, Caldera RIP. From this foundation, customers now choose between: Perpetual Licencing (software ownership with optional upgrades), or Subscription Licencing (flexible, ongoing usage with version continuity).
Both options offer a simple three-tier choice to select from:
– Essentials: for smaller print shops producing lower-volume applications such as stickers or banners.
– Pro: for mid-range production environments.
– Max: for high-volume including flatbed printing and advanced finishing.
The most notable innovation: every tier includes the full feature set. Customers no longer pay premiums to unlock capabilities like colour management or profiling. Instead, the tier alignment is based solely on printer size and production needs.
The new structure supports a product philosophy aligned with modern print shop growth paths. A small shop may begin with a single aqueous device producing decals and posters, then at a later stage scale up to a flatbed and more advanced finishing system. Their Caldera software implementation scales with them, without forcing a platform change or feature renegotiation.
Customers no longer face the frustration of choosing the ‘right’ RIP variant or paying for software capacity they’re not yet using. The system is built for clarity, with straightforward check-box comparisons that allow print companies to immediately see which tier supports their current equipment, and how easily they can transition upward.
Samin Sarkar, Caldera’s General Manager, said, ‘We are heralding the next phase of professional print software: global in scale, local in service, and simplified in product structure.’
