Ruan Greeff from Wrap My Ride was crowned the ultimate winner of the 2015 Avery Dennison/Roland Speedwrap Challenge at FESPA Africa. He has won a trip to FESPA 2016 in Amsterdam to take part in the FESPA World Wrap Masters Grand Final for the global title.
The daily challenges involved participants racing against the clock to wrap a vehicle door to the best standards. The last challenge saw the three finalists having to wrap a mannequin’s torso in record time.
Greeff said, ‘I made a spur-of-the-moment decision to enter the competition, with the encouragement from the Sytech Supplies team, for whom I’d wrapped a lamborghini that was displayed on their stand at the expo, as well as Speedwrap MC Alex Jay, who all said I had nothing to lose. So, I decided to give it a shot. I loved every second of the competition and I appreciate the support that Roland, Avery Dennison and FESPA Africa give to installers. I’ve been wrapping for 17 years, so I have a lot of experience behind me but to prepare for Amsterdam, I will practice wrapping difficult objects that require technique and patience and will work on getting my speed up to scratch to meet the high standards of the competition.’
Judges included Lalit Palav, Technical Marketing Manager at Avery Dennison India, Pooven Pillay, Sales and Technical representative at Roland and Robbie Fuchs of World Signs.
