Agfa showcased its new Application Zone and demonstrated its newest UV Inkjet Systems at SGIA 2012, which took place from 18-20 October.

The ‘Six Strings Classic Blues Lounge’, modelled after a New Orleans Jazz nightclub, showcased the company’s expertise in producing applications that marry its inkjet media portfolio and inkjet equipment. The result is a franchise business that details the best of Agfa and Pitman and offers attendees the chance to experience the potential of inkjet.

The booth also showcased several inkjet printing systems, including the :Anapurna M2540 FB, the Jeti :3020 Titan with a 48 head configuration, the :Anapurna M2050 and the :Jeti 3324 AquaJet.

The :Anapurna M2540 FB is an entry-level high-speed flatbed, UV-curable inkjet printer for graphic screen printers, photo shops and sign shops. It delivers near photo quality and offers exceptional value and ROI. The :Anapurna M2540 FB can print on practically any rigid and sheet material. It provides high-quality printing on a wide variety of indoor, outdoor, and uncoated rigid media such as corrugated boards, rigid plastics, Plexiglass, mirrors, exhibition panels, wood, aluminum, MDF, stage graphics and advertising panels. This addresses the growing demand for niche output, such as promotional goods and gifts, coasters and DVDs.

The field upgradeable :Jeti 3020 Titan is a high-production, high resolution, hybrid inkjet printer designed with a modular format. Users can start with a base configuration of 16 heads and upgrade all the way to 48 heads at any time. It also offers a flat-to-roll option in addition to 10 different levels of speed and capability.

The :Anapurna M2050 is a high-speed, six-colour plus white, UV-curable inkjet printer, designed to give users a cost-effective solution for display printing. It has eight print-heads, 8192 nozzles, and the ability to print in both uni- and bi-directional modes without compromising speed or quality. With a maximum resolution of 1440 dpi, the printer accommodates rigid materials to 16.5cm x 24,1cm (6.5′ x 9.5′) and rolls to 16.5cm (6.5′) wide and is optimized at 23sqm (247ft2) per hour for print output.

The six-colour :Jeti 3324 AquaJet is an aqueous-based textile printer and features the latest generation disperse inks to produce output onto any polyester-based fabric. The inline infra-red fixation system ensures vibrant, brilliant and durable results which are fade- and wash-resistant.
