Fujifilm launched the Vybrant UF10, seen for the first time in Africa at the recent Sign Africa and FESPA Africa expo, held from 11-13 September at Gallagher Convention Centre.
It is a true flatbed printer offering high quality printing on a range of rigid and flexible media, supported by its four dedicated vacuum zones. With high speed performance that is suitable for print volumes typically up to 7500sqm per year, this printer is ideal for businesses looking to grow their flatbed capability at a cost effective price point. It can deliver print speeds up to 16sqm per hour in Production Mode, and can be used to print on a variety of rigid and flexible media up to 51mm thick. Fujifilm’s Uvijet UV ink, combined with variable drop sizes from 7 to 21 picolitres, delivers excellent results. The ink can adhere to a range of media whilst having superb solvent resistance. The patented MicroV ink dispersion technology delivers consistent quality, reliability and a wide colour gamut. The Vybrant UF10 is available as a 6 channel printer with CMYK and 2 White channels as standard.

Acuity LED 1600 with roll-to-roll and flatbed function
Fujifilm displayed the machine’s hybrid capabilities, with one machine running a roll-to roll function, and the other running with the flatbed function. The Acuity LED 1600 II features a fast printing mode of 33sqm/hr, which is more than 50% faster than the previous model. This addresses customer demands for quicker job turnarounds and lower output cost. The machine, which has a maximum print width of 1610mm, and a 1200dpi maximum resolution, also offer simultaneous two-layer printing (white plus clear) and three-layer printing (colour plus white and clear) when combined with Caldera or ColorGate RIP software.
Summa F1612
The Summa F1612 digital finishing unit – a handy and reliable solution for short-run, on-demand sign jobs, featuring a cutting area of 160cm (63 in) wide x 120cm (47 in) long, with a speed of up to 1000mm/sec (39.4 in/sec). Visitors to the Fujifilm stand could also see videos and samples from its wide format and offset packaging and digital display solutions.
