Direct-to-Film (DTF) process is as simple in its working as its name suggests – Print on a film and directly transfer onto fabric. DTF Printing Africa offers a printing service that gives the advantage to print digital transfers to decorate dark and light garments on cotton, fabric blends, like 50/50’s, tri-blends, leather, nylon and 100% poly tees. Because the durability is enhanced by the special ink and adhesive, DTF printing is also ideal for workwear like overalls, high viscose, gym and cycling wear.

Direct to film (DTF) printing is a unique printing technology that involves printing designs onto special PET films for transfer onto garments, sportswear and bags, umbrellas etc. We offer a commercial system that prints onto a 600mm wide roll film. This is a heat transfer process that has the ability to last as long as traditional silkscreen or DTG prints. Once heat pressed the soft water-based ink is transferred to the garment in just 13 seconds.

Make sure you own the copyright to print.	Transparent or translucent gradient IS NOT recommended. It will lose its bleeding effect where there is a transparency of 30-40% as it will start to break and create jagged edges in your artwork.	Check your artwork’s edge quality and make sure the edges are sharp and do not contain ‘dirty’ colours resulting from badly removed back-grounds.

Image Size: Maximum print width 550mm.
Make sure you size your design correctly. Designs out of the maximum print width will be cropped/trimmed.
Length: Length is by multiples of 1 meter and 55cm in width.
Colour Format: RBG or CMYK.
File Format: PNG with a transparent background around the design.
Resolution: 300 dpi is recommended.

1st Press: 8 seconds at 140^oC to 150^oC, then wait till the film is cold at room temperature, peel off the transparent film.

2nd Press: Cover the printing area with a Teflon sheet and press again for 5 seconds at 150^oC.
