If you are a vehicle wrapping master, then you should enter the Extreme Speedwrap Challenge sponsored by Avery Dennison and Roland. It will be taking place daily at FESPA Africa from 22-24 July at Gallagher Convention Centre. There will be daily cash prizes and the overall winner will clinch the ultimate prize of a trip to Amsterdam to compete in the FESPA World Wrap Masters Grand Final at FESPA Digital 2016 for the global title.
Contestants must race against the clock to wrap a vehicle door in 25 minutes. Their work will be inspected by experienced judges. The competitor with the highest points on the day will go into the wrap off on the Friday, where the overall winner will be crowned the ultimate wrap-off champion, and will win the trip to Amsterdam. There will also be spot prizes for students and those brave enough to wrap some unusual items. All you need to do is enter at the expo. Bob Glenister of Roland encourages visitors to, 'Strut your wrapping and you could be rapping with your cash!' All the graphics will be printed on the Roland SOLJET XF-640 High-Speed Inkjet Printer.
'The competitors will utlise the Avery Dennison cast, MPI 1005 supercast film with DOL 1460 gloss over-laminate, which are high performance films designed for use on vehicle wrapping with unsurpassed conformability for deep recesses. The Easy Apply™ adhesive technology eliminates wrinkles and bubbles, assists in easier application and is sure to make this a great experience for the competitors to work with,' says Lindy van Moerkerken, Business Manager Graphics Division Avery Dennison.
During the 2014 Extreme Speedwrap Challenge at FESPA Africa, Vaughn Repsold from Kacoon Vehicle Branding was crowned the ultimate winner and won a trip to FESPA 2015 in Cologne to take part in the FESPA World Wrap Masters as the first person from Africa to compete. 'The World Wrap Masters was an eye-opening experience for me as the competition was intense and the competitors were extremely professional and on top of their game,' said Repsold. 'As strong as the guys were in the competition, they were also such amazing people to meet because they were so humble and friendly. The language barrier was quite big but we all spoke the same language when it came to wrapping.'
Entrance to the expo is free. Pre-register online and attend the expo, and you could win R1000 cash.
