Sign-Tronic Ran World-First Demonstrations With Textile Printer And Calendar At Sign Africa Expo

Sign-Tronic ran demonstrations on its ColoRate textile printer and Monti Antonio calender for thermoprinting at the Sign Africa Cape Town Expo. The event took place from 11-12 March, at the CTICC.

The ColoRate 1908 textile printer ran demonstrations at 370sqm/hour using 17gsm paper, developed in-house. Features of the machine include a current of 18A and a voltage of 220V, including a rated power of 4000W. According to the company, it was the first time such a demonstration had been run at an expo anywhere in the world using 17gsm paper.

Complementing the demonstration was the company’s Monti Antonio T02-1800 calender for thermoprinting, which can sublimate anything that is coated with polyester.

The motivation behind the choice of 17gsm paper is its extreme cost saving benefit. Thin paper means less contact time, and the thinner the paper the quicker the sublimation.

The event was sponsored by Stixo and Roland.
