See The Latest DTF Technology At Sign Africa Cape Town Expo

The Sign Africa Cape Town Expo, taking place 14-15 May at the CTICC, will feature live on-stand demonstrations, showcasing the future of direct to film (DTF) solutions and conducted by product experts from all the leading brands and companies.

According to JG Electronics, DTF printers work by printing designs onto a special film. ‘A powder is then applied to the wet ink on the printed film. When heated, the powder melts and acts like an adhesive, allowing the design to adhere to fabric surfaces. This versatile process can also be used on paper and various porous substrates, including certain types of pseudo leather.’

DecoNetwork says the next few years are set to bring major changes to DTF printing in apparel, making it even more efficient, reliable and scalable. ‘Automation is becoming a key focus, with heat press technology evolving to speed up production and reduce manual labour. At the same time, manufacturers are working to improve the reliability of printers, powders, and films, ensuring that decorators experience fewer technical issues.’

Visitors at the Sign Africa Cape Town Expo can speak to product experts about the latest DTF solutions, and they can also see the latest opportunities in laser cutting and engraving, wide format printing, sublimation, vehicle wrapping, signage, displays, screen and pad printing, and other cutting-edge technology.

Please register online for free attendance to the Sign Africa Cape Town Expo, taking place from 14-15 May 2025 at the CTICC.
