Aleyant Announces Feature Enhancements For Print Management System

Subscribers can now upload production files and support files separately in the Edit Job and Manage Job screens, and in the Estimate screen. These are part of Aleyant’s significant feature enhancements within PrintJobManager for subscribers with tFlow integrations.

PrintJobManager now contains areas to separately upload Production files and Support files. Production files are the job’s primary PDF art file. Support files can be any other related file associated with that job such as distribution lists, fonts, native files, etc. In addition, only Production files will sync and create new job(s) in tFlow.

Previously, there was one upload area, and all files uploaded to PrintJobManager or Pressero created new jobs in tFlow. With this release, only Production files create new jobs in tFlow.

In addition to improving how PrintJobManager and tFLOW work together, this enhancement also improves file management for PrintJobManager Jobs (even for subscribers not currently using tFLOW). All associated files for a particular job can live in one place, eliminating the need to locate them across storage servers or cloud platforms.

Midcomp Azero Announces New Large Format Plotter Range

Midcomp Azero has announced the availability of the new HP DesignJet range, including the HP DesignJet T200, T600 and Studio series. The HP DesignJet T200, T600 and Studio series are intuitive and easy to print with, so that architects, engineers and construction professionals can focus on what is important.

The HP DesignJet Studio Printer series and the HP DesignJet T600 Printer series are the only solutions providing seamless printing of both large and small format sheets automatically in a multi-size print basket compared to competitive alternatives with comparable size and features as of January, 2020.

The increase in demand for different workspaces forces us to search for ways to meet space requirements and adhere to budgets. The HP DesignJet T200, T600 and Studio series are the world’s smallest plotters designed with sustainability in mind.

HP DesignJet T200, T600 and Studio series printers are up to 38% smaller compared to competitive alternatives with comparable size and features as of January, 2020. They are also the world’s smallest large format plotters based on the most compact footprint.

Architects, engineers and construction professionals spend a lot of time outside the office, between construction sites, offices and external presentations. This requires tools that can bring the freedom to work remotely and securely, as simply as possible.

HP is reducing the carbon footprint of printing through carbon reduction initiatives such as energy efficiency, reduced packaging and use of recycled plastics. The HP DesignJet Studio Printer is the first HP DesignJet where HP has offset the remaining carbon impact due to raw material extraction and processing, printer manufacturing and transportation, as well as electricity, paper and cartridge use in accordance with The CarbonNeutral Protocol.

‘What is unique to the South African market is that a large number of architect and engineering practices have seen downscaling and office spaces were vacated to run with a smaller staff complement from their homes. Normally, there would be one or two of these printers at the office in a print room,’ said Mariana Raath, General Manager, Midcomp Azero.

‘Now there is still the requirement to print (as prints needs to be submitted to municipalities/local government as well as to the project managers on the sites doing the actual work). However, these often large, heavy and high capacity printers now need to be ‘replaced’ by much lighter printers with a smaller footprint that will not only fit into the home area of the users, but also look attractive among their home furniture or ‘blend’ in (which the new design allows). More importantly these units need to be shared by multiple team members. The new printers are light enough to be carried and transported in an ordinary passenger vehicle to the next user’s house.’

Raath also mentioned the machines’ easier user interface, which is similar to a cellphone, and has been designed for users that never needed to interface with a printer before, to make them more comfortable with the technology. ‘The Plug&Play system is more advanced, and Wi-Fi can be used to print to these printers.’

HP DesignJet T200 series

– Available in 60.96cm (24”).
– Up to 30 second A1 print speed.
– 512MB of internal memory.
– Stand accessory.
– Roll cover accessory.
– Automatic sheet feeder accessory.

HP DesignJet T600 series

– Available in 60.96cm (24”) and 91.44 (36”).
– Up to 25 second A1 print speed.
– 1G of internal memory.
– Stand included.
– Roll cover included.
– Automatic sheet feeder included.

HP DesignJet Studio series

– Available in 60.96cm (24”) and 91.44 (36”).
– Up to 25 second A1 print speed.
– First net carbon neutral HP DesignJet plotter.
– New aesthetics with high tech look and feel.
– 1G of internal memory.
– Stand included.
– Roll cover included.
– Automatic sheet feeder included.

In terms of additional markets the machines can open for users, Raath said, ‘The printer can be used for technical drawings as well as to print a sheet that has a paper doll with an entire wardrobe for cut-outs printed on it; the scene of an Avengers’ show-down, customised gift wrap, or school notices – the market is endless.’

HEXIS Group Launch PVC Film For Large Format Surfaces

The200Evo’s Take Heat Easy® technology is the result of a combination of a solvent based adhesive and a micro-structured liner developed by Hexis’ R&D team. This innovation has been specially designed to reduce the initial tack and immediate adhesion, thus making the installation of the vinyl more convenient with an optimal adhesive bonding process.

Ease of repositioning, print quality and optimal durability are all assets that will allow customers to express their creativity with unlimited possibilities and installers to use it conveniently on flat or slightly curved surfaces, for 2D wrapping projects (buses, lorries, fleet vehicles etc.) and large format signage.

Thibault Veuillet, Business Development Manager Automotive, commented, ‘With its excellent sliding properties on the substrate, the film is an ideal solution, especially when an installer needs to quickly and accurately position two printed widths. It is amazingly easy to find the perfect alignment for a design.’

HEXIS have developed and are now launching the V850B laminate with a thickness of 50μm, which is ideal when combined with the new film. Caroline Mateu, Chairman of the Board of Directors at Hexis said, ‘Our research laboratory and our industrial team have combined their respective strengths and skills to complete the design and manufacturing process of these two new products in the most successful way. In the year 2020, despite the current health issues, Hexis continue their race for technological innovation with the launch of the new self-healing X technology for our vehicle body protection films (Bodyfencex) and the antimicrobial Pure Zone® technology for surface protection.’

Midcomp’s Latex Printer And Cutting Solution Ensure Client Satisfaction

Since installing an HP L570 printer and HP 160 1.6m vinyl cutter, Print Corp has reported that its business has seen growth in overall operational efficiencies.

Water-based HP Latex Technology is unique – delivering a combination of true application versatility, high image quality and high productivity, and a sustainable approach that is better for operators, businesses and the environment.

The cutter features a drag-knife with TurboCut and Tangential emulation modes, with a cut speed of up to 113cm/sec diagonal. ‘When we were looking to buy a printer, we had a few boxes to tick,’ said JP Pretorius, owner, Print Corp. ‘We wanted our print work to be ready to use immediately after printing. That is exactly what we got with the HP L570. It does not matter what material you print on, everything is ready straight out of the printer to applicate or laminate.’

‘We had to have a printer that was extremely versatile with regards to media. With the new generation Latex inks, you are able to print on a wide variety of media, even textiles. We had to have a printer that used eco-friendly inks, so the water based latex inks were a perfect fit. We also needed a printer that did not take up a lot of space. With the front loading system of the HP, you can put the printer right up against a wall and save a lot of space.’

Johannesburg-based Print Corp are specialists in signage (light-boxes, billboards, cut-out letters, vehicle branding, flags and banners), wide format latex printing, UV flatbed printing, direct to substrate printing, textured printing, T-shirts and promotional items, logo design, company ‘look and feel’, display designs and promotional material.

Pretorius has been very impressed by Midcomp’s service. ‘We where blown away by Midcomp from the very first day that we met salesperson Darryl Braithwaite. Midcomp became more than just a supplier – we feel like family when we walk into their offices. We were so happy with their way of doing business that we bought a flatbed printer from them as well and they still don’t cease to amaze us with their support and service.’

Pay Per Use (PPU) is a comprehensive and customised programme, created by Midcomp, that ensures users pay a fixed ‘per square metre’ charge for the square metres they print. ‘The unique PPU option that we took when we bought the printer gives you such peace of mind that you do not have to worry about ink, service charges, repairs and parts,’ added Pretorius.
