> JETI PRINTERS REIGN SUPREME IN THE MECCA OF THE PRINTING INDUSTRY
The latest in Jeti digital printing technology from Gandinnovations proved to be the industry show-stoppers at drupa 2008. The Canadian based manufacturer of large-format digital printing systems wrote record contracts over the course of the show.
The overwhelming response to the NanoJet UV True Flatbed digital printer, the new Jeti 3348 Jetspeed UV RTR digital printer and the award-winning Jeti 3324 Aquajet Direct-to-Fabric digital printer proves there is great need in the industry for high-quality, reasonably priced wide-and large-format printing solutions. ‘Drupa helped us expand the circle of potential users of our printing system from all branches of the printing industry. Given the global economic climate, we were uncertain what customer behavior to expect. The investment climate, however, was extremely good and far exceeded our expectations,’ says James Gandy, chief executive and chairman of Gandinnovations.

‘This was our first presentation at drupa. With contracts pending and an influx of orders continuing daily we couldn’t be more pleased with the results,’ add Hardy Gandy, President world-wide sales for Gandinnovations. ‘Our success proves that the digital printing industry continues to grow strongly. Not only is drupa the world’s largest and most important trade show within the printing and media industry, its the most important venue for new print techonolgies. Gandinnovations used the drupa platform to reveal its new NanoJet UV True Flatbed digital printer, specifically designed to print photo-realistic quality outputs.

The NanoJet uses 24 Spectra high performance print heads. Equipped with a silicon nozzle plate, this 15 picolitre head is specifically designed to deliver high resolution droplets. Printing at speeds of 220sqft/hr (20.4sqm/hr) in Photo-Realistic mode with superb results, the NanoJet has a print area of 10 x 20cm (4 x 8in) and prints in 6 colours at 800dpi, using Gandinnovations UV-curable branded inks. The NanoJet is a true winner for any print shop needing to output a high quality product. Perfect for high quality display printing on glass, acrylics, Dibond, aluminum, wood, steel, coroplast, formboard, styrene and much more.

Continuous live demonstrations also proved a winning formula for Gandinnovations. The Jeti 3324 Aquajet Direct-to-Fabric digital printer, ‘European Digital Press’ 2008 Award-winning unit consistently outperformed the competition bringing complex colours and images to life. This workhorse uses Gandinnovations formulated, Waterbase Dye Dispersed Inks printing in 6 colours at 400dpi. The Jeti 3324 Aquajet Direct-to-Fabric digital printer creates the ultimate colours that are brilliant, fade resistant, and literally burst to life from a full range of fabrics – flag, banner, and textile materials.

Through application examples and demonstrations trade show visitors were shown how the new technologies can be used for innovative print products and intelligent customer solutions.

Another new technology by Gandinnovations fervently embraced is the Jeti 3348 UV RTR, its brand new 3-metre UV RTR digital printer which prints at lightning speeds of 2500 sqft/hr (230sqm/hr) in a 4-colour configuration and features 48 Spectra print heads. The new unit uses Gandinnovations’ UV-curable branded inks on a variety of materials including 100% PE eco-friendly polyethylene and is well suited for all types of outdoor applications. The Jeti3348 UV RTR will also be available with a back-lit camera option enabling reverse printing of the material and comes with perfect registration allowing brilliant backlit signage. The Jeti3348 UV RTR is the best productive digital print solution for outdoor applications in speed and quality for billboards, backlit signage and building wraps.
